RusHydro expects power output to rise year-on-year in 2017

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Aug 10 (PRIME) -- Russian hydropower giant RusHydro expects its power production to rise in 2018 as compared with 2017, when it power output went up 1.7% on the year to 126.961 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), CEO Nikolai Shulginov told reporters on Friday.

“We are outperforming the previous year now. Production of hydropower plants has been higher than last year for six or seven months, it is higher by almost 2 billion kWh in the first half of the year. We think that we will maintain the dynamics until the end of the year, and our production will grow slightly, including production of Far Eastern plants and of hydropower plants,” he said.

“Higher output of hydropower plants has a clear reason -- the level of water is slightly higher. On the Far Eastern plants demand is also slightly higher,” he said.
